Overview
Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level
The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level is a subject-based qualification jointly examined by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE). It is a GCE O-Level annual examination offered to Students from mainstream schools who are taking a Secondary Four Express course or a Secondary Five Normal (Academic) course, as well as private candidates who have met the GCE O-level eligibility criteria.
Established in 1971, the GCE O-Level examination is closely aligned with the Singapore school curriculum designed by the MOE. Looking forward to GCE O-Level 2024, it continues to serve as a benchmark for academic assessment in Singapore.
Program Introduction
The Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level, often called the GCE Ordinary Level or simply O-Level, is an internationally recognized qualification. The GCE O-Level exams assess students’ knowledge and understanding of various subjects, by students generally at the end of their secondary education. Victoria World Academy designed the program Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level to prepare students for the O-Level examinations and provide them with the knowledge and skillset necessary to pursue their GCE A-Level, which will, in turn, help them in their university application.
Objectives
The primary goal of this Preparatory Course for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of GCE O-Level academic subjects. We aim to fully prepare them for their GCE O-Level 2024 examinations while equipping them with complete preparation for their further studies in GCE A-Level.
Course Duration and Commencement Period
Full Time Students
The course duration of Singapore Cambridge GCE-O level is 24 months. GCE-O level classes will be 5 days a week, 6 hours a day.

Mode of Delivery
VWA’s Singapore Cambridge GCE-O Level courses focus on small class teaching, which can provide all students with more comprehensive GCE-O Level knowledge guidance.

Note: GCE O-Level courses are conducted according to the latest syllabi specified by the Ministry of Education in Singapore.
Mode of Assessment
Internal Assessment
Victoria World Academy, each year, there will be a total of 4 internal assessments about the Singapore GCE-O Level knowledge, one at the end of each term.
*If the students take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE-O Level Exam during the term, their end-of-term examination can be exempted.
The weighting and grading of the internal assessment will follow the VWA GPA system.
External Assessment
Students will take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level Examinations after completing the VWA program. Singapore GCE O-Level Exam and Assessment Board will post the annual examination schedule on its website.

Examination Result Release Date:
For internal assessment, results are released within one (1) month from the last exam date.
For external assessment, results are released as determined by the Singapore Examination and Assessment Board.
Awarding Criteria
The school shall award the Certificate of Completion with Pass when the student has met the following requirements:
- obtain an overall GPA of 1.0 or above;
- met all financial and administrative obligations to the College;
- completed at least a 90% attendance rate
On top of meeting all the requirements:
- If the student has obtained an overall GPA of 2.0 (inclusive) to 3.0 (exclusive), the student will be awarded the Certificate of Completion with Merit.
- If the student has obtained an overall GPA of 3.0 (inclusive) to 4.0 (exclusive), the student will be awarded the Certificate of Completion with Distinction.
- If the student has obtained an overall GPA of 4.0 (inclusive) to 5.0 (inclusive), the student will be awarded the Certificate of Completion with Highest Distinction.
Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level Certificate will be awarded by Ministry of Education of Singapore and Cambridge Assessment International Education to successful candidates of the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations.

The Committee for Private Education (CPE) has regulatory provisions and requirements to protect course fees payable by students enrolled in a private education institution (PEI).

The course fee of Cambridge international education is refundable and will be subject to Victoria World Academy’s refund policy.
